As for me, I’ve been a bit like a busy bee — buzzing around from one project to another, editing, creating, and bringing new ideas to life. It’s been one of those weekends where inspiration just keeps flowing, and I found myself completely absorbed in the process. There’s something so satisfying about seeing all the little pieces come together, especially when it’s for something I truly love — helping learners learn Thai in meaningful ways.

The inspiration for this book came directly from my students. Over the years, I noticed that many learners who joined my classes didn’t fully understand the parts of speech — things like what a noun, verb, adjective, adverbs, preposition, or conjunction really is, or how they function together in a sentence. And that’s completely normal! It’s something most of us were never clearly taught, even in our own native language.
So, I found myself explaining these basic grammar ideas again and again, showing how understanding them can unlock a deeper confidence when speaking and writing Thai. Eventually, I realised — this needs to be a book! A resource that anyone can turn to, anytime, to finally make sense of how Thai words work and connect.
I have to say, understanding the parts of speech has helped me tremendously in my own language learning journey too — especially when I was learning to speak English. Once I began to see how each word played its role in a sentence, everything became so much clearer. I could finally understand why certain words were used and how they worked together to create meaning.
That personal experience really shaped how I teach today. I know firsthand how empowering it feels when language starts to make sense — when you can finally see the logic behind it rather than just memorising phrases. That’s why I poured so much care and detail into this book.
