Whether I’m creating Thai learning resources or writing about Tarot, my heart is in the same place:

I’m here to share what I’ve learned in a way that helps others feel more confident, more connected, and more inspired to learn and grow. Even though I’m no longer teaching live full-time, I still see myself as a teacher and guide — just in a new way. If you’re here, thank you. I hope you find something that speaks to you — whether it’s for your language journey or your personal one.

My Humble Beginning

Built from Scratch, Backed by Heart

In 2007, I made a choice that changed everything — I ignored the advice of those around me and opened my home to students. I had one clear mission: to make learning Thai accessible to those who didn’t grow up speaking it, especially people hoping to build a life in Thailand. Without any formal degrees but with a deep love for learning, writing, and sharing knowledge, I created Thai Language Tuition UK from scratch. It started small — just me, my passion, and a handful of students around the kitchen table — but it grew into something truly special.

I poured my heart into building resources that worked — writing, testing, and tweaking learning materials from the ground up. As my student base grew, so did my belief in self-education and the power of quality learning tools. From the very beginning, I was determined not just to teach, but to create resources that inspire and support real, lasting progress. Every page, every lesson, every workbook was carefully designed to help learners feel confident, capable, and connected to the language. What started as a quiet act of defiance became a lifelong mission — to help others thrive through learning Thai, one resource at a time.

From a Small Classroom to Serving the Nation

A Decade of Dedication Pays Off

Ten years after I first opened my home to students, all the long nights, lesson planning, and persistence led to one of the proudest moments of my career — securing a dream contract with the UK Ministry of Defence. I was invited to teach military officers who were preparing to take up positions at the British Embassy in Bangkok. From there, my reputation continued to grow, and I soon found myself working with other government agencies, including the National Crime Agency. These weren’t easy contracts to win — they required trust, professionalism, and a proven tract record. I delivered all of that and more.

Eventually, I was recommended as a Thai language assessor, helping to evaluate officers at the end of each level of their training. Being trusted in this role was a huge honour and something I don’t take for granted. Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. What started as one person teaching Thai with no formal degree turned into a respected name in Thai language education — and it all came down to hard work, passion, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

When Life Changed, So Did My Path

Turning a Challenge Into a New Calling

In 2022, life took a sharp and unexpected turn — I was hospitalised for six weeks and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It was a scary and difficult time. After years of working nonstop, building my teaching business and supporting students day and night, my body finally said: It’s time to slow down. When I returned home from hospital, I had to learn a completely new way of living. Now, I inject insulin every morning, noon, and night — something I must do for the rest of my life to stay alive. Some days I feel strong, and some days I don’t. Teaching live lessons regularly started to feel too unpredictable, too draining. I had to make one of the hardest decision of my life — I shut down the Thai Language Tuition UK website. I simply didn’t have the strength to take on new students. My health needed to come first. I was lost and unsure of what to do with my life.

For someone who had spent over a decade working non-stop, helping others, and building something from nothing, this felt like a complete shift. But deep down, I knew I had to step back to take care of myself. Over the past three years, I’ve kept things quiet. I continued working with a few long-time students who have been incredibly supportive and understanding. I even took trips back to Thailand to reconnect with the culture I love and to gather new inspiration for future work. And while the outside world may not have seen much from me, behind the scenes I never stopped creating. I quietly wrote, designed, and developed more Thai learning materials — because even during uncertain times, the love I have for this work never went away. This quiet period was not the end. It was a gentle pause — a time to heal, reflect, and slowly prepare for something new.

Sharing What I Love in a New Way

Rewriting My Story, One Page at a Time

In 2025, I launched uraikhomkham.com — a space that represents this new chapter of my life. After years of working quietly behind the scenes, I realised that while I might no longer be able to teach full-time, I can still support Thai language learners around the world through my writing. In fact, writing has always been something that never made me tired. I never got bored of it — and when I’m creating, I feel like myself again. So now, I focus fully on creating high-quality eBooks and digital materials to help others learn Thai in a structured, supportive, and inspiring way. Everything I’ve created for my students over the years — all the lessons, grammar breakdowns, vocabulary lists, and practical guidance — is finally finding its way into published works.

But there’s more. Another quiet passion I’ve had for over 20 years is Tarot. I’ve studied it deeply for decades and, for the first time, I’ve started writing about it too. Just like language learning, Tarot is about self-awareness, reflection, and finding your path — and I’m ready to share my knowledge in a way that might help others. Whether I’m creating Thai grammar guides or writing about Tarot, my heart is in the same place: I want to help others grow, connect, and feel empowered through knowledge. This new website is the beginning of a new journey — one that brings together everything I’ve learned, loved, and lived through, in a way that works for my life today.
